EXPLORING THE PICTURESQUE REGIONS OF OBWALDEN AND INTERLAKEN

Day four of my Swiss journey was a blend of scenic tranquility and thrilling heights, with each stop offering a unique glimpse into Switzerland's natural beauty and cultural charm.

LAKE LUNGERN – A HIDDEN GEM

The day began with a visit to Lake Lungern, a serene paradise nestled between lush green hills and dotted with quaint Swiss chalets. As I approached the lake, its turquoise waters glimmered under the sunlight, a sight so picture-perfect it felt like a postcard brought to life.

Charming houses I passed by while strolling along Lungern.

Look at the turquoise waters of Lake Lungern!

Strolling along the lake's edge, I was surrounded by the tranquillity of nature, with the soft rustle of leaves. This hidden gem was the perfect spot to pause and reflect, offering a moment of quiet amidst the grandeur of Switzerland’s landscapes.

The stroll was particularly tranquil and pictureque.

BÜRGLEN – CRASH LANDING ON YOU FILMING SITE

Next, I visited Bürglen, where fans of the popular K-drama Crash Landing on You will recognise the iconic house featured in the series. Located in Kaiserstuhl-Bürglen, this charming spot offers not only a slice of TV magic but also breathtaking views of Lake Lungern.

This private residence in the Swiss village Kaiserstuhl-Bürglen is the filming location of the beloved Korean drama "Crash Landing on You".

Even though I have not watched the show, I could easily appreciate the beauty of this setting. With its quaint Swiss charm and picturesque surroundings, it’s no wonder this location captured the hearts of viewers around the world.

The pristine turquoise waters of Lake Lungern is so beautiful, it feels unreal.

HARDER KULM – THE TOP OF INTERLAKEN

The final part of my day is the trip to Harder Kulm, often referred to as the “Top of Interlaken.” I took the funicular railway to ascend this majestic mountain, and the journey itself was thrilling, offering panoramic views of Interlaken and the surrounding peaks.

At the summit, the view was simply breathtaking. The lookout platform, with its iconic two-lake bridge design, offered a sweeping vista of Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, and the snow-capped Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks.

You will pass by many whimsical wooden statues dressed in traditional Swiss attire as you walked towards the lookout platform.

The sun has set by the time I was done with dinner at Harder Kulm Panorama Restaurant and I took the funicular back down. It was the perfect way to end the day, soaking in the beauty of Switzerland from one of its most stunning vantage points.

BOUTIQUE HOTEL BELLEVUE

For this leg of the trip, I stayed at Boutique Hotel Bellevue, located by the river. The hotel offered a decent stay, with a clean and comfortable room. While the location was convenient, and the views were pleasant, the overall experience was average and didn’t quite match the price of the stay.

ALL IN ALL...

This day was a reminder of Switzerland’s incredible natural beauty. Each moment felt like a scene from a fairytale, leaving me grateful for the experiences and eager to explore even more.

Love,

Shu
